Modern practice of traditional Chinese holidays on the example of the "Birthday of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva".

Abstract

Buddhist holidays in China are an important part of traditional Chinese culture. In the modern world, traditional holidays contain elements of Buddhism, and traditional Chinese rituals are part of Buddhist rituals. This article recreates the picture of the modern practice of traditional Chinese holidays on the example of the "Birthday of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva", whose cult is a reflection of the common Chinese beliefs. Special attention is paid to festive rituals and ceremonies.
