Language expression of taboo on the material of Chinese superstitions.

Abstract
This article provides an etymological and definitional analysis of the lexeme "禁忌" (taboo) on the material of the Chinese language. A review of scientific studies in Chinese on taboos is given. The purpose of this article is to study the phenomenon of taboos reflected in Chinese superstitions from the point of view of linguistics. The following methods were used to conduct the research: general scientific hypothetical-deductive method, descriptive method, contextual analysis method, interpretive analysis. The research is based on the following hypothesis: superstitious thinking, lack of scientific knowledge, fear of the unknown acted as a "breeding ground" for tabooing words, gestures, objects, and terrain in ancient China. Having been reflected in the language, fixed in the format of superstitions, taboo is reflected in modern Chinese linguoculture.
